TERRY LYNN SIGFUSSON

April 4, 1956 – November 15, 2024

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Terry Lynn Sigfusson on Friday November 15, 2024, at the age of 68, surrounded by his family at the Health Sciences Centre after a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife Debbie; daughter Jackie (David); son Tim (Brenna); stepdaughter Rianna (Randy); stepson Jordan; and, grandchildren – Dawson (Morrigan), Devon (Rayna), Shyanne (Mathieu), Kohl (Daisy), Charlee, Titan; step granddaughters, Rhyla, Rielle, Abby; and step grandson Brady. He also leaves behind his sidekick Maggie who he loved so dearly; his siblings, Allan (Joanne), Robert, Becky (Bob), Richard, and Bradley; along with many nephews, nieces, and friends.

He was predeceased by his son Ryan; his parents, Thomas and Viola Sigfusson; his brother-in-law Ken Mykichuk; and his in-laws, Barrie and Iris Larkin.

Terry was a kind and loving man who loved his family and his dog. You could always see Terry driving to take Maggie for walks, the two being inseparable.

Terry was born in Rolla, North Dakota while his father was teaching there. They moved back to Winnipeg and eventually settled in St. James on Rita Street. He attended Golden Gate and Silver Heights Collegiate. After high school, Terry obtained his heavy-duty truck transport mechanic ticket and later moved to Lundar, MB where he raised his family and worked with Sigfusson Northern. During that time, he enjoyed various sports, watching the kids play hockey, organizing different fun baseball events, and making many lifelong friendships along the way.

He met Debbie in Grade 7 and they dated in Grade 9, eventually reconnecting during their High School Reunion. They married in Mexico on March 15th, 2012. He loved travelling and had the opportunity to visit many places including Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, Cuba, Las Vegas and Cancun.

Terry was a heavy-duty transport mechanic having held various jobs, everyone he crossed paths with became a friend. His laughter and jokes would fill the room with joy and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He really did enjoy sharing his knowledge with the younger guys and delivering top customer service. At the time of his passing, he was working as a shop foreman for Fort Transport.

Life was wonderful but unfortunately health issues came up and his life was cut short. Terry will be forever loved and missed. The world lost a great man that day and our lives have been forever changed.

A Celebration of Life for Terry will be held on Saturday Nov 30th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at Little Mountain Sportsplex, 64-128 Klimpke Road, Winnipeg.

A private internment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Terry.

Terry’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

You Never Said Goodbye

Author Unknown

You never said I’m leaving,

You never said goodbye.

You were gone before I knew it,

And only God knew why.

A million times I needed you,

A million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you,

You never would have died.

In life I loved your dearly,

In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place,

That no one could ever fill.

It broke my heart to lose you,

But you didn’t go alone.

For part of me went with you,

The day god took you home.

I am so saddened to hear my cousin Terry has passed away

We didn't see each other often ( living in different cities,) but always had wonderful chats when we did see each other. I can still hear his laugh which was so contagious and his smiling eyes.

My heart and prayers go out to Robert, Allen, Bradley Richard and Bev and Debra.

love Cheryl and Kurtis McCartney
