KARL OTTO SINGER

September 30, 1951 - January 17, 2024

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Karl Otto Singer at the age of 72, January 17, 2024, with his family by his side at the Health Science Center, in Winnipeg Manitoba.

Karl was predeceased by both his parent Otto and Ida Singer, his younger brother Harold, and his beloved wife of 46 years Beverly. He is survived by his brother Robert, son Ryan (Sara), daughters Vanessa (Ben), Kim (Harland), and his grandchildren Peyton and Ryker.

Karl was born in Verden Aller Germany where he and his younger brother Robert spent the first 3 years of his life until his parents decided to move to Canada to make a better life for their family. They first settled in Dryden Ontario where they built a home from the land around them while raising farm animals and trying to build a better life. A short while later they moved to Winnipeg where his father began his career in construction. A few years later he met his best friend Barry, they enjoyed going to socials, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors. Little did he know he would meet the love of his life Bev at one of these socials and begin his life as a loving father and a career as a window fabricator and installer.

He enjoyed his spare time attending his children’s sporting events, the BIG gatherings with family where he always had some good stories to tell, hunting and fishing and traveling with his wife, and good friends Paul and Cindy, and more recently watching Peyton play hockey. Karl worked at Madero up until his illness, where he finally decided to retire and take some time. He we be greatly missed.

Many thanks to the nurses and staff at the Health Science Center BMT Unit GD6 for making our dad’s last few days comfortable.

A celebration of life will take place on at 2pm on February 8, 2024 at 603 Wellington Cresent at Academy Road in the Unitarian church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
