ELAINE SKIRZYK

(née MUSICK)

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Elaine Donna Judith Skirzyk (née Musick) on April 24, 2023.

Elaine was an awesome wife to her late husband Wayne; mother to two sons, Paul (Patti) and Jason (former spouse Kristin); and Baba to Arielle, Sacha, Addison, Eden, Tara, and Aidan.

Elaine grew up in a large extended family that lived together on Burrows Ave, with her parents, sister, cousins, grandparents, and other relatives; the house was never empty. She met her future Husband at just 16 years old. They had a long marriage until the passing of Wayne in 2020. She had many friends from St. Nicholas Catholic Church, and Seven Oaks General Hospital where she worked several different positions but ended up retiring from a secretary position in the Home Care department.

Elaine fought the battle with sickness in recent years and the pain in her body. She will be sorely missed by all who know her or knew of her in her life.

Mom, go up the stairs, mom, just go up the stairs; heaven is there.

We would like to thank Seven Oaks General Hospital, and St. Boniface Hospital for all the care that was provided for her in the past year.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you kindly give a donation in Elaine’s name to either Cancer Care of Manitoba or St. Nicholas Catholic Church. It would be greatly appreciated.

A private internment will take place upon her request.

I knew Elaine from the time we were in junior high together at Isaac Newton School.  I was there when she snuck your dad in for the graduation dance and he was subsequently thrown out! They definitely had a wonderful relationship.  They are together again.  My condolences on your loss.

I knew your Mom for many years while, at Seven Oaks. Elaine had a very unique sense of humor and a beautiful sweet smile.
