LEIGH ANN SLAWSON PATRICK

June 3, 1966 - June 14, 2021

It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Leigh-Ann Slawson-Patrick on June 14, 2021.

She leaves to mourn her mother Geraldine; brother Jeff; as well as many cousins and close friends, too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her father Alden Irving Slawson.

Leigh-Ann graduated from Fort Richmond Collegiate in 1984. Following graduation, she pursued a variety of interests. She loved to travel to exotic places, including Australia and Thailand. She became a professional hair stylist and a professional medical secretary. Her real love was fashion, and she was able to spend the remainder of her life in a career she loved, in the fashion industry at Lorenza.

Leigh-Ann had a unique and quirky sense of humour; she was a kind and compassionate person; she loved animals and was especially fond of her beloved cat Maroon.

A memorial service for Leigh-Ann will be held on Sunday, 1:30 p.m. at Kings Park. Parking is available in the second parking lot on the left side of the road in the park. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, capacity is limited to 25 people. Leigh-Ann’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.

I'll be singing our signature song today  You know what it is.  Your lipstick was always perfect no matter how many times you asked.   Missing you Tracy

I had the opportunity to meet Leigh Ann, when she worked in fashion, and she had a great sense of fashion style.  She had a great sense of humor and always made you feel so special. Gone too soon. Rest in peace,  my friend.

..our paths crossed every so briefly, LA amazed me with her flair, humour and determination. She joined us at the lake for a girls retreat - lots of laughs and story telling.  I ran into her at GP mall a few years ago (where does time go?) and we caught up…life cut too short LA 🙏.

Leigh-Ann was my very first best friend...we lived across the street from each other and were inseparable as young girls. Summers were spent running through sprinklers, tap dancing on any hard surface we could find, dressing up Molly the cat, squealing through episodes of Chiller Thriller at sleepovers, chasing each other down her hallway pretending we were Jaws, and endless games of make-believe that were most often a product of Leigh-Ann's playful and vivid imagination. She was the funniest and most exciting person I had ever met. I am grateful for these wonderful memories of my time spent with Leigh-Ann, and I will cherish them always. My deepest condolences to Geri, Jeff and family and to all who loved Leigh-Ann. She had a generous heart and a beautiful soul.  May she rest in eternal peace.❤

So many great childhood memories of growing up together. Your sense of fashion, kindness and ability to make each moment memorable is what I treasure most. Gone far too soon. Rest peacefully, Leigh-Ann.
