KEVIN ALLEN STIRE
December 29, 1958 – June 3, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Allen Stire, age 67. He passed away after a short battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on June 3, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Kevin was born in Oakville, Ontario on December 29, 1958 to his parents Allen and Betty Stire. They then moved to Winnipeg in the year of 1972.
Kevin began his career with Canad Inns in the year of 1985 where he dedicated nearly 41 years. Hospitality was his passion and he left a lasting impression on all those he met throughout his career.
Kevin met the love of his life, Kimberly, who was also employed at Canad Inns at the time. They married in 1990 and shared 4 children together. Kevin was a devoted husband, father and even more importantly, a grandfather. He was a family man and always took care of everyone else before himself. Kevin has taken a piece of all our hearts but we are comforted knowing that he is no longer suffering.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly; and his 4 children, Brandan (Amanda), Taylor (Tim), Regan (Alyssa), Nicholas (Megan); his two young grandchildren; his mother Betty (Hari); and his sisters, Alyson and LesLee and their families.
Kevin was predeceased by his father, Allen.
In lieu of flowers, please join us for the Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis on August 22, 2026 or donate as we raise awareness for this disease.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 25, 2026 at Canad Inns Garden City.

I met Kevin in the mid 90's. Very witty sense of humour. He was my GM/VP on and off for years. No matter the challenge, Kevin would always take the time to sit me down, help me out and talk me through it, without judgement. Whether it was professional or personal, I trusted his advice. Kevin was an honourable man. I feel blessed that I got the opportunity to work on his Team and work beside this true Leader. My heart and prayers go out to Taylor, Kim and the entire Stire family. I am so very sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Kevin, until we meet again.

I always looked forward to time spent with Kevin when they would come to Oshawa and visit our grandparents and see how much trouble we would get into. I always treasure the memories of my time spent with him when I spent a couple of summers in Oakville. It's a shame we lost contact when they moved to Winnipeg. My heart was truly broken when I got the news of his passing. My condolences to Aunt Betty and Alyson and Leslee and to Kevin's wife and children and their families. I will cherish my memories of Kevin

For 13 years I had the opportunity to work with Kevin at the head offices of Canad Inns And always found him to be a no nonsense and very knowledgeable hospitality professional. It was as always clear that he had a deep love and appreciation for his family as well as his work team. He had a quick and dry sense of humour that made him an easy person to get along with. I'm so sorry that his journey was cut short. My deepest condolences and sympathy to Kim and his children. He won't be forgotten. May Kevin rest in eternal peace.

So very sorry to hear of Kevins passing. Like so many others, we met around a hockey rink, it became obvious right away that he was a great dad, husband and friend. Deepest sympathies to Kim and the entire Stire family. RIP Kev.

Kevin was an amazing fiend, father, husband, grandfather and mentor. His contribution to the hospitality industry for over 40 years was amazing to watch. His passion for the industry and its members was always on display. Our thoughts are with Kim and the family. He will be sorely missed by everyone he touched.

I was shocked this morning when I heard of his passing. I worked with Kevin at the Winnipeg Convention Centre many years ago.
I remeber him as a fun loving guy and we often played practical jokes on each other. He was so much fun to have around and I have great memories of those early days. I wish the family all the strenght that they need.

Our daughter, Alyssa began dating Kevin's son Regan just over 10 years ago and they married last Sept.
Kevin welcomed our family with open arms and we are so grateful to be part of the beautiful Stire family as in- laws to Regan.
Kevin became a dear friend and a wonderful father-in-law to Alyssa.
He truly was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His kindness, generosity and laughter will never be forgotten. Sincerest condolences to Kevin's family and friends.

Our family was terribly sad to hear of Kevin's passing. We met the Stire's 25 years ago. Our son Brett played hockey with their son Regan and over the years they became very good friends. We were fortunate to share many get-togethers, hockey games, tournaments and parties. His humour, generosity, and kindness touched us all. Please know we are holding you close in our hearts.

We met Kim and Kevin 25 years ago when our sons played hockey together. We were so fortunate to develop a great relationship with the Stire Family which often included hockey trips and summers at the lake. Kevin always had time for others, but put his family first. We will miss your terrific sense of humour and devoted friendship.

I first meet Kevin on August 15 1999, that's when Canada Inns officially took over Polo Park Inn. Kevin was a great guy, always there when you needed him. R.I.P. Kevin 🌹

I met Kevin many years ago when he was General Manager of Garden City Inn and I was a young Constable working the north end. We always helped each other and he became not only a good work contact but a great friend......I will miss that friend. Godspeed Kevin.
