I met Jerry when we were 12 when we went to a one room school in Thompson Manitoba.  He was a lot of fun. I enjoyed looking at this photo tribute. Condolences to all his family.

1967 -three couples and special guests gathered at the home of Barb and Jerry-the reason-the three women were friends and the guys all played guitars--Time for a party and some songs-so began a life long friendship. Children were added to the mix-the years slipped away- the music continued and the friendship deepened. Things changed over the years but the monthly dinners and the music was always special and the magic that closed out the evening. The group has gotten smaller with the passage of time but the love is still there and those that remain hold on to and support each other.   Jerry was larger than life and had talent to spare but what he shared the most was himself with his generosity caring and kindness as well as his experience. He changed my life forever and I am eternally grateful that I called him "friend". My deepest condolences and love to Barb and the entire family-Rest in Peace my old Friend ! xo Derek Black

My deepest condolences to his family.  I met Jerry 22 years ago when I took a class in learning about computers.  His patience n ability to hold the attention of the class was remarkable.  He always had a great thought when it came to explain ing things.  He was a very gifted teacher.     A former adult student  Ursula Boehm

I worked with Jerry at Workplace Education Manitoba. I wish there was a way of letting all of Jerry’s former students know of his passing because I know there would be hundreds who would want to give tribute to him.  He was a gifted instructor and he was always available to help students unravel the complexities of their trade journey. He also made class (work) fun!  Jerry always had stories! We often heard about long suffering Barb “How has she put up with me all these years?” and Christopher, his grandson who lived with them and kept him young. He adored his family.  My deepest condolences to the family. Jerry is well remembered.  Lisa Allard

I worked with Jerry in the early 2010’s. Another colleague always called him “uncle Jerry”, and that was the prefect nickname for him.  Jerry was so generous with his time, was a gifted educator (one of the best I have ever seen), and a truly beautiful soul.  You felt better just being in the same room as Jerry.  He was an absolutely brilliant colleague and an even better human being.  The world is a poorer place now with his absence.

I'm so sorry. I just learned of this now.  Kim, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's been so many years since we last saw each other, but one memory I have is when we were just young, around 9 or 10, I think.  I was over at your place and we were playing in your basement and your dad came down and picked up his guitar and started playing "House of the rising sun".  He wanted us to sing, but I didn't know the words, and was quite shy, but you sang, and I loved watching you two. ❤ I always think of that time when I hear that song. Such a great song. Sending you, your mom and your family my sincerest condolences. xox Dalice
