Maureen Sullivan

MAUREEN SULLIVAN
March 23, 1944 – March 31, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maureen Sullivan, who died peacefully on March 31, 2026, at the age of 82 in Winnipeg, MB.
Maureen was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, on March 23, 1944. She was the beloved child of Neil and Eileen Sullivan, and she spent her early years in Dominion City, MB with her sister, Janice Auvinen.
Known for her quick wit, articulate manner, and polished appearance, Maureen was cherished by her family and friends. She was dedicated to her family and possessed a passion for reading and politics. Maureen dedicated her professional life to human care. Throughout her life, she lived in all of the prairie provinces, frequently traveling the highways to spend time with her family. She had a robust career in social services. Maureen was one of the first female correctional officers at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Center in the early 70s. She worked in child welfare in Alberta and Saskatchewan and The Workers Compensation Board, and Canadian Paraplegic Society in Manitoba. Maureen had a passion for helping others and made connections and great friends along the way.
Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her son, Don (Lisa); her grandchildren, Randy (Jenna), Sarah, Josh, and Jeremy; and her great-grandchild, Teagen. She is also survived by two nieces, Courtney and Alexandra and many friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kelly; her parents, Neil and Eileen; and her sister, Janice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maureen’s memory to Heart & Stroke Foundation.
