JOHN (JACK) SWANN
July 4, 1941 - January 11, 2024
It is with immeasurable sadness and grief that we announce the passing of our husband, father and papa on January, 11, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Jackie is predeceased by his father John before he was born in 1941, and his mother Margaret in 1977. Jackieâs memory is cherished by the love of his life his wife Margaret, his 3 children Gary, Jacqueline (Sean), Shannon (Jeff) his grandchildren Karleigh (Dalton) Halle (Brent), Connor, Jacob and his great grandchild Tate.
Jackie Swann was born July 4, 1941 in Belfast Northern Ireland to Margaret Swann. He grew up in Belfast on the Shankill Road where he met and married Margaret in 1963. They went on to have 3 children Gary, Jacqueline and Shannon. Jackie and Margaret immigrated to Canada after their first child in 1966. Jack went on to work many of jobs before he landed on his career at Reimer Express Lines, which he took a lot of pride in. In Jackieâs spare time he loved Watching soccer, Manitoba Irish Association, the Masons, movies and his greatest joy of all was spending time with his family. He was a very proud Father, grandfather and great grandfather, he loved his family and what he had created here in Canada. Jackie was known best for his loving heart and sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.
A special thank you to Joe. His friend and health care aid.
A memorial service will be held Thursday January 25, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Transcona Memorial United Church to celebrate the beautiful life of our beloved husband, dad and papa.
In lieu of flowers please donate to The Childrenâs Hospital in Jackieâs memory.
