JOHN (JACK) SWANN

July 4, 1941 - January 11, 2024

It is with immeasurable sadness and grief that we announce the passing of our husband, father and papa on January, 11, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Jackie is predeceased by his father John before he was born in 1941, and his mother Margaret in 1977. Jackie’s memory is cherished by the love of his life his wife Margaret, his 3 children Gary, Jacqueline (Sean), Shannon (Jeff) his grandchildren Karleigh (Dalton) Halle (Brent), Connor, Jacob and his great grandchild Tate.

Jackie Swann was born July 4, 1941 in Belfast Northern Ireland to Margaret Swann. He grew up in Belfast on the Shankill Road where he met and married Margaret in 1963. They went on to have 3 children Gary, Jacqueline and Shannon. Jackie and Margaret immigrated to Canada after their first child in 1966. Jack went on to work many of jobs before he landed on his career at Reimer Express Lines, which he took a lot of pride in. In Jackie’s spare time he loved Watching soccer, Manitoba Irish Association, the Masons, movies and his greatest joy of all was spending time with his family. He was a very proud Father, grandfather and great grandfather, he loved his family and what he had created here in Canada. Jackie was known best for his loving heart and sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

A special thank you to Joe. His friend and health care aid.

I was sorry to hear of Jackie's passing.  As a member of the Irish Association of Manitoba, I have many memories of the Swann family and Irish danced with Shannon and Jaqueline.  Lots of old friends have made inquiries at the club over the years and remember him and the family with warm memories.  My condolences to the Swann family and friends.
