SAVELIA “RISIA” SYTNICK

Savelia was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on June 5, 1953 and passed away in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 16, 2024.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anne Sytnick; her great aunt, Zenovia Sytnick; and her husband's father, Lloyd Clark, for whom she generously and compassionately provided care in their declining years.

Risia, as she was known to many, loved and participated in many of the arts disciplines including theater, radio production, choral work and music. While early in her career, these passions guided her in promoting local artists and performers during her time with the Manitoba Arts Council.

Savelia lived a quiet life and was always on the hunt for an interesting recipe. Music was always around her and most importantly, her beloved books. 

She was engaging, thoughtful, principled and often regaled us with her hilarious and witty perceptions of anything from the mundane to the profound.

Savelia will be dearly missed by her husband, Don Clark; her sister, Olesia Sytnick; and those who knew her well.
