Ed Tremblay

EDWARD TREMBLAY
May 22, 1938 - March 23, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, Edward Arthur Tremblay, on March 23, 2026 at the age of 87, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his daughters, Teresa (Brent), Jill (Kevin), and Susan (Geoff). Ed was a proud grandfather to Zachary, Tessa, Natalie and Emily. He loved you all very much! He is also survived by his sister Elaine; sister-in-law Lorraine and nephews, Drew (Mary-Ann), Paul (Kerri), Glen (Margaret), Lorne (Kelsey) and John.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Narcisse and Pearl; brothers Julius and Alex, twin brother Ernie; sister Marie; nephews Brian, Larry and Lynn, niece Audrey and brother-in-law Bill.
Ed was born on May 22, 1938 in Flin Flon, MB.
In 1947 Ed, Ernie and Elaine were sent to school at the Convent in Wauchope, SK. A couple years later Ed and Ernie went on to Gravelbourg College.
Ed joined the Canadian Army when he was 16 and completed his education in Chilliwack BC. He was stationed in Germany for a period of time and did some travelling.
Ed was employed by Hudson Bay Mining & Smelting in Flin Flon, St Amant Centre in Winnipeg and retired from Molson Brewery in Regina.
Ed would drive his daughters to early morning swim practice and would wake them up at 5am by loudly declaring "daylight in the swamp"!
He took up downhill skiing in his 40s and introduced the sport to his three daughters.
He had a strong bond with his twin brother Ernie and sister Elaine. He would go on ski trips with Elaine, Bill, Drew and Paul and enjoyed hunting and fishing with Ernie and his sons Glen, Brian and Lorne.
Ed was a life-long Saskatchewan Roughriders fan who tried to influence his grandchildren to cheer for the Roughriders. It didn't work.
One sport we could agree to watch together was the Winnipeg Jets.
He was a voracious reader, enjoyed watching old western movies and the series "Gold Rush" on TV and looked forward to vintage port with his son-in-laws at Christmas.
Ed moved back to Winnipeg in 2018 and was soon diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the dedicated and hard working staff at Middlechurch Home who cared for Ed for the past two years. The family would also like to thank Thorvaldson Care Center who took great care of Ed during his time there.
Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Rest in peace Dad.
We love you!

I am very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was a good and kind Uncle to me..always respectful of my quirky ways and shortcomings.
A fond memory I have is of my stay with your family in Winnipeg, likely for medical reasons. Uncle Ed driving me to medical appointments and you getting me to try yogurt for the first time.
i have enclosed a pic. from a visit from you with us is FF..mid/late 70s. Guessing one of you girl's took the pic..can you remember who?
My deepest condolences to you. Love and hugs.
