ADRIENNE TROISFONTAINES

June 27, 1927 – April 9, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adrienne Troisfontaines at the age of 98 years on April 9, 2026 at Actionmarguerite St. Vital (Foyer Valade). She was born at home on June 27, 1927 as a first generation Canadian. Her parents immigrated to Canada from Brittany.

She leaves to mourn her sister-in-law, Yvonne Philippot and numerous nieces and nephews. On her husband’s side she leaves to mourn her sister-in-law, Simone Troisfontaines and several nieces and nephews.

Adrienne was predeceased by her husband, José Troisfontaines; her parents, Alexis Philippot and Marie (Philippe); her brothers and sisters-in-law Alexis (Josette), Alexis’ first wife Mariette (Manou), Charles (Lucienne) Julien (Claire), Henri (Cecile), Joseph, Raymond (Laurette); and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Angele and André Oliviero, Isabelle, Nathalie and Arthur Jacques and Louise and Aimé Badiou. She was also predeceased by her nieces and nephews, Andrea and Arthur Oliviero, Norman Philippot and Rene Philippot, Bobby Jacques and Norbert Jacques.

On her husband’s side she was predeceased by José’s parents, Ernest and Idalie Troisfontaines; her brothers-in-law Ernest and Jules Troisfontaines and sister-in-law, Pierette; as well as her niece, Mariette Troisfontaines.

Adrienne and Jose began farming in 1951. They farmed on land 2 1/4 miles east of Labroquerie where they had a dairy farm. They sold this farm in 1980 and started a hobby farm a little ways down the road. Farming was a good life but they decided to retire in 1994. Adrienne enjoyed life on the farm and really missed it after moving into Ste. Anne. She loved her dogs. They always had a few of them. When out for a drive she would always pull off the road to watch the Canada Geese. Her other favourite hobbies were making jewellery and wearing her long dangly earrings that she was so well known for. Taking walks in the woods and planting trees anywhere she could find a place to put them was another passion.

Visitors were always welcome at her home. She enjoyed having visits with their friends and family.

After José passed away she moved to the city as she was no longer driving and needed more help. It was a difficult move for her but she did adjust to it. Her last home was Actionmarguerite St. Vital. We would like to thank all the staff for the great care and compassion they showed Adrienne during her stay there.

At Adrienne’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service. Donations may be made to Actionmarguerite St. Vital or to a charity of your choice. She would be more than delighted if you planted a tree, especially a Mountain Ash in her memory.

We love you ma tante

and will miss you dearly.

We loved ma tante and will miss her! She had a great memory and many stories, a love of dogs and travel, along with enjoying the 'good old days' on the dairy and simpler times. There was always her trademark earrings and a flair with the clothes she chose, which she generously shared with nieces. Rest in peace ma tante.
