ROBERT (BOB) TUCKER

December 27, 1953 - June 11, 2026

Peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at St. Boniface Hospital, Robert (Bob) Tucker passed away at the age of 72.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 27, 1953, Robert was the eldest of three sons born to Peter and Rita Tucker.

Bob worked for Canadian National Railway for 36 years before retiring in 2009. His career took him to many beautiful places and introduced him to friendships that lasted a lifetime. He and his children also shared memorable cross-country trips aboard VIA Rail, traveling together to West Edmonton Mall and creating treasured family memories.

Dad had a deep love for nature and often shared stories of fishing and hunting trips up north. He enjoyed photographing birds and wildlife and took great pride in learning to fly, an accomplishment that reflected his adventurous spirit. A lifelong enthusiast of science and technology, he was fascinated by the mysteries of the universe and always eager to learn about the latest innovations. He was also an avid video game player, and many cherished hours were spent gaming alongside his son. A devoted fan of the Blue Bombers, Blue Jays, and Jets, he loved football games with his brothers and travelling to the States with his daughters to take in hockey games. Earlier in life, he enjoyed curling and cycling, and later developed a passion for golf. Above all, Dad valued time with his family and friends, whose love and companionship meant the world to him.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sarah (Daniel), Ashley (Joshua), and Robert Jr. (Marissa); grandson Brennan; brothers, Daryl and Richard (Rose); nieces, Mindy and Kristy, and nephew Michael. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter Tucker and Rita Tucker (née Comeau).

Bob will be fondly remembered for his kind and generous heart, sense of humour, great conversations, and the warmth he brought to those around him. “Dad, you were the most amazing father and we will cherish every memory we made together. We love you more than you will ever know.”

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the entire healthcare team for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad’s memory may be made to St. Boniface Hospital or CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
