It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of their beloved, Danny John Uskalo, in the St. Boniface General Hospital on Friday, July 1st at the age of 67 years.
Danny is survived by his loving wife Karen. His children, eldest son Jason (Charlotte), son Michael (Kristin), and daughter Amanda (Ian) his 10 grandchildren, Nick, Vincent, Raina, Aubrey, Addison, Alyssa, Jonathan, David, Joshua & Olivia; sister Irene Monchack (Ken) and twin brother Robert Uskalo (Sharon), mother-in-law Hilda Daly, sister’s in-law, Diane Uskalo , Linda Daly, Heather Fustey (Todd), Janet Deans (Gary), Sandra Braun, Sharon Hallet (Billy), Shelly Craveiro (Sean) & Brenda Chan (Alfred); brother in-law Tom Daly (Michelle), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John & Tina Uskalo, brother Brian Uskalo, father-in-law Thomas Daly, sister in-law Dinah Osachuk, brother in-law Brian Osachuk, and brother in-law Kenny Braun.
Danny was the youngest of 4 children born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He had a long-standing career spanning 45+ years and looked forward to his retirement.
For much of his life Danny loved playing the guitar and could often be seen playing and singing his favourite tunes at family gatherings, listening to music in his garage, or watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He passed on his love of music to his children. Danny was an amazing father who took pride in everything his children accomplished. He enjoyed spending his free time at home, tinkering around in his garage. He was a very creative handyman. If he could make it, he would, rather than buy it. He took great pride in his ability to build and fix things and was sure to pass on his knowledge and his hardworking nature to his children.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank-you to the Doctors, Nurses, and Paramedics at St. Boniface Hospital for their efforts.
Danny will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will take place July 17th, 2022 at the John Osborn Army Navy Veterans Club, 300-1395 Ellice Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba between 1:00pm-4:00pm.
