TERRY VANDAL

At the age of 48, after a difficult battle with ataxia, Terry Vandal (nee Lippens) passed away quietly on November 16, 2022 in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by family. She will be sadly missed.

Terry was a woman who despite her many life struggles, knew how to laugh and to love.  She loved to dance, spend time with family, particularly at family games nights, and she thrived on Christmas traditions. Terry loved learning. She expressed her creative side through creating homeschool curriculum, website design, wedding planning and catering. Terry was a writer.  She had a poem published at age 15 in a poem anthology, and has written many country songs, two that were recorded and sung in Nashville.  Terry was a woman with many gifts; although often stalled due to her PTSD, her resilience and love, and bravery carried her through.

Terry is survived by her husband Guy, her daughter Katrina (Dietrich), her sons Calum (Evan) and Phillip (Marianne), and two beautiful grandsons, Gabe and Rafi.  Terry will also be deeply missed by her soul friend Bonnie Ferguson-Baird (and family), her cousins Sherry Grift, and Dawn and Jacquline, and their respective families.

In lieu of flowers, please support Ataxia awareness at ataxia.org

A celebration of life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 10 at Good News Fellowship Church (891 St Mary's Road).

Terry's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

Terry often surprised me. She had the ability to pull herself up from valleys to mountains...I have learned some new surprises here in her bio!  She was definitely an overcomer and figured out how to live life to the fullest despite her challenges.  Rest in peace Terry.  You are now truly free.  Sending love and prayers to her family.

Terry was the sort of person spoken of in Psalm 84:5-7. She could make the hard places in life an oasis and her presence could refresh those parched by hardships. She lived from strength to strength til the she stepped into the presence of the Almighty One.
