PAUL VERMETTE

May 9, 1956 - April 11, 2021

We are sad to announce that after a long, hard fight Paul lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at home, with his family at his side, on April 11, 2021.

He loved his family, partying with friends, beers on our patio, the Jets and traveling. He looked forward to a winter vacation somewhere hot so he could relax on the beach or by the pool and have a few cervezas.

He is survived by his wife Jan; daughter Sheena; son Thomas (Pierre); sisters Margaret (Steve), Michele (Stefan), and Monique (Mike); brother Guy (Murielle); step-mother Darlene (Brian); step-sister Kathy (Ritchie); step-brother Paul; and his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He was predeceased by his mother Margaret and his father Ernest.

I would like to thank the doctors and nurses of CancerCare Manitoba and Palliative Manitoba for their care and compassion during Paul’s fight with cancer.

Paul has been cremated and when COVID restrictions ease we will have an “Irish Wake” in celebration of his life

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to CancerCare Manitoba or Palliative Manitoba.

So sorry to hear of Paul's passing!  I met Paul and Guy the first day of Darwin, when they both were in my Gr. 9 class.  What a couple of great guys!  I enjoyed having them both, along with Junior Garand, all in the same class.  It was one of my favourite home rooms of all time.  RIP Paul!
