DONALD MICHAEL VOLK

April 27, 1969 – June 30, 2024

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden, unexpected death, due to heart failure, of Donald, at home.

He is survived by his father Ronald (Laurie); mother Nadia (Jim); brother Paul (Karen) and sons; sisters, Jennifer & son, Christina, Jaclyn (Jonathan) and family; and step-sister Jennifer; along with an aunt, uncle, cousins, and extended family.

Donald grew up in East Kildonan and attended Angus McKay, John Henderson, St. Alphonsus schools, and graduated from Kildonan East Collegiate.

He found his calling as a long-haul truck driver. He loved being on the road and travelling throughout Canada and the U.S. After working out of Ontario for over twenty years, he decided to make Winnipeg his home base.

He enjoyed watching his Toronto Blue Jays. As per his wishes, his eyes were donated to the Organ Tissue Bank.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service was held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald's memory to CancerCare MB Foundation, 260-675 McDermot Ave. R3E 0V9, or a charity of your choice.

Donald’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

We were saddened to learn of Donnie's sudden passing. Our condolences to Paul and Karen on the loss of your brother, to your sons on the loss of their uncle, to your parents on the loss of their son, and to the rest of your family as well.

I personally remember Donnie as a quiet, gentle soul, always with a smile on his face. May you find peace in your cherished memories and comfort in the company of each other.

With love from

Marcia, Darwin, Declan and Harrison
