Janice Wagner

JANICE MARIE CAROLINE WAGNER
(née BEHL)
July 10, 1960 – August 12, 2025
With deep love and sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Janice Wagner (Behl), who left this world on August 12th at the tender age of 65 after succumbing to heart failure.
Janice was known by all who knew her as a woman of kindness, humility, and quiet strength. She lived her life with a heart that always put others first-whether family, friends, neighbors, or strangers in need. Her generosity was never measured by what she had, but by what she gave. As a single parent, she was a devoted mother, daughter and sister who never sought recognition. Janice touched countless lives with her selflessness and care. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to ripple through those she nurtured, inspired, and supported.
Born in Winnipeg on July 10th, 1960, Janice grew up with strong values of compassion and service that guided her throughout her life. Known as the "candy lady," she sold confections and fireworks before going to work for Garden Grove Distribution, where she worked for several years as a sales executive. Janice continued her food service career with Pratts Wholesale until her retirement in 2020, when she proudly boasted of buying her first brand new car. The last few years have been dedicated to caring for Betty, Taylor and dog Tucker all while dealing with chronic health challenges.
She is survived by son Taylor Wagner; mother Betty Behl; brother Glen Behl (Tabitha); nieces, Stephanie and Natalie Behl; step daughters, Lindsay and Stephanie Wagner; step nieces, Taylor and Reed; and predeceased by father Barrie.
A celebration of her life will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, at the Nor-Villa Hotel 1763 Henderson Hwy, where we will honour her memory with a tequila toast as per wishes.
We will forever remember Janice not for what she had, but for what she gave. She showed us the beauty of living with compassion, and we are better because of her.
Janice’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

So saddened to hear of this. Janice would be the one to bring in her mom Betty and Betty's dog Peaches to the vet clinic where i worked. Janice was forthright with a great sense of humor and really worked hard to help her mom care for Peaches. Peaches wasn't the easiest of patients when in the clinic- but the love and care Janice took with both her mom and Peaches was noted and appreciated. My deepest condolences to Janice's friends and family. So very sorry for your loss.

With a heart full of love and cherished memories, I remember you Janice, your vibrant smile and warm spirit. I was utterly shocked and saddened to hear of her passing; its hard to process. We shared a special bond given her mother-in-law was my Aunty and they came here to Canada from Slovenia together. I will always remember that during our early days of motherhood, navigating life while carrying our first children born only 2 weeks apart. Our laughter echoed in every moment we spent together creating memories filled with fun and adventure. Though life took us on different paths, I will always treasure her stubborn determination and the beautiful times we shared. She will be remembered by our family for the light she brought into our lives and the love she had for her family. Rest in peace dear friend. Love always, Mel, Chelsea/Braden/Jack, Chase/Alyssa/Bubs PS "I hope they have a mailbox in heaven too"!! xox

Oh Janic.. What to say about you
I'll never forget the first day I met you. August 28,2014.. You mothered me right from the beginning. I loved you for it. Our lunch time chats outside or minus 30 in your car., you always gave the best advice and listened when I needed someone. I felt special in knowing you were comfortable enough to confide and open up to me as well. It's always gonna make me laugh when you hit my car. The way you came walking in with your little notes that you had left earlier that day, and slammed it down in the desk in front of me saying"you drive a red car?? " I said yes. You said "I just hit it!! " and walked away
I told you that I was good with you paying my deductible and you said "nope karma's gonna come get me and I don't know what would happen" lol
Oh you made me laugh
when I was going through my divorce, you are one of my biggest supports
when I met Gord, you were one of my biggest cheerleaders
Always looking out for me one way or another even after you retired. I'm so glad I got to know you and call you my friend
im gonna miss you so much

I have so many great memories with Janice. Considering I have known her since she was born, we shared so many joys and many heartbreaking times. She is my sons Godmother and I am her son Taylors Godmother. We stood by each others sides during marriages, births, deaths, fun times, lunches and dinners, I have many hilarious stories with her but dare not put them on here. I will treasure and hold those memories close for ever. Rest easy Janice. I believe in my heart you are safe with your Dad and many family members now. Love you cuz. Andrea
