David Walker
David Walker
October 6, 1949 -August 29, 2022
His parents were Fred and Mildred Walker. When David was growing up he enjoyed playing hockey in Austin and Holland, Manitoba. His parents also made an ice rink for him and his sister Kathy.
He started his schooling in a one-room schoolhouse before going to school in Holland and Treherne, Manitoba. For work, he worked in construction after school. Then he took over the family farm.
He had one daughter named Angela. He would drive Angie to and from ringette and they lived together on the farm until she grew up. He lived on the farm from his birth in 1949 to 2006 when he sold the farm to his sister Kathy and brother-in-law Jim.
Then he moved to Brandon. In Brandon, he worked at Atom Jet, and Prairie Oasis. During his time in Brandon, he made many friends, attended many social events, and enjoyed helping other seniors. He met his good friend Mary Ann Carlisle at this time as well. They would enjoy spending time together whether it be playing cards, going on trips, or going to the movies together.
His daughter Angie married Tristen in 2006 and they had twin daughters in 2011, named Charlotte and Willow. His week-long visits to see his family were a joyful time.
He was very proud of his family, and we will miss him dearly.
