PATRICIA (PATTY) WESTLEY

September 11, 1951- August 16, 2026

It is with deep love and heavy hearts to announce the sudden passing of our beautiful mother Patty.

Left to mourn Patty’s passing are her daughter Sabrina (Kyle); two grandsons, Kingston and Rocklen; and three siblings, Gail, Glenn and Ken.

Patty was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Deley and her beloved husband and soulmate Rick.

Patty was a ray of sunshine to all that were lucky enough to have known her. She was very compassionate, kind hearted, generous and always positive. She was the best mother, most loving and proud Grandma, loyal sister and devoted wife. She always lived her life to the fullest.

Patty worked many years in casinos and was always known for her fast shuffle and an ace up her sleeve. She was good with numbers which also lead her to work many years for elections Canada, which she was most proud of. She was fortunate enough to retire early where her and Rick got to live the best of both worlds. Six months soaking up the sun in Mexico and the other six months spent at their cabin at Toniata Beach. It was a simple but great life always surrounded by close family and friends.

Her love of casinos didn’t end after retirement as her and Rick called it “going to work”. They didn’t miss a day of putting their “lucky $20” into a slot machine whether they were in Mexico or the Falcon Hotel. After Rick’s passing Patty spent many memorable trips going to South Beach casino with her daughter Sabrina.

Rick and Patty were the cutest dynamic duo. Patty meant the world to Rick. Together they travelled the world, played lots of cards/skip bo, listened to great music, and ate lots of delicious food. Sunday nights at Shang-Bo were never missed. Patty also enjoyed cooking/baking, gardening and Bingo. She was well known for hosting one of many late night card games, which included Rick’s home made wine and Patty’s famous taco dip.

The sun made Patty smile. Her smile was contagious. If you were having a bad day, you knew exactly who to call. Mom, you weren’t just a mom. You were my Best friend, my Rock. You made me who I am today. Life will never be the same but, I am forever grateful for the beautiful life we had and all the special memories that we made. You taught me that every day is precious. Thank you for being the best Baba (grandma) Your sweet soul and unconditional love will remain in our hearts forever. We love you forever and always.

Que sera, sera.

Hasta Manana. Xoxo

There will be a Celebration of life for the family on Saturday Sept.12th from 1-3pm at 321 de la Cathedral. (Cathedral Manor) 4th floor.

I worked with Patty at Manulife from 1976 to 1980. She was so much fun! She could type like the wind, answer the phone, deal with difficult bosses and drink coffee at the same time! Never lost her cool. We lost touch over the years as we both transitioned to different careers but she was sure memorable! Please accept my sincere condolences
