Carolyn Whitehead

CAROLYN JOY WHITEHEAD
March 22, 1945 – November 17, 2025
Carolyn J. Whitehead was born on March 22, 1945. She resided many years in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and went home to be with her Saviour at age 80 on November 17, 2025.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Carmalyn (Gerry), son Daniel; Leatta Westra (Joe), children Joe/Steven (Maude), Stephanie (Dan), great-granddaughter Leviance, Ashely Bartel (Grant); Jean Losee (Jim), sons Sam and Tim.
She will be missed by her many friends and extended family.
Carolyn lived her life through service to others. Her door was always open to anyone in need and was a place where friends became family.
Carolyn enjoyed being a foster parent to younger children, and she also fostered and adopted dogs through Hull's Haven later in life.
Carolyn was a loving homemaker and hard worker. She worked a few summers as a tree-planter then devoted many years to working at Canadian National Railway. She worked in the Atikokan Bunk-house, the downtown office and in the Transcona Shops and retired from there at age 65.
Some of her favorite things were: cooking, baking, spending time in her garden, entertaining and walking her dogs. Carolyn also helped with crafts and flower arranging for Women's Aglow, enjoyed caring for kids and babies for Mom's Group through her church, and often hosted a small bible study group in her home.
In accordance with her wishes, Carolyn was cremated.
There will be no public funeral or celebration of life.
A private celebration of life with immediate family will be held at a later date.
The family would like to sincerely thank the amazing 4th floor staff at Lions Manor Personal Care Home. During her stay there, the staff loved and cared for Carolyn as if she were their own mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone wishing to make donations in Carolyn's memory, to please donate to Lions Manor Personal Care Home at http://www.lch.ca, or Hulls Haven Border Collie Rescue at Hulls Haven Border Collie Rescue – Mercy Knows No Border.

Carolyn's servant heart and love for children shone through in her dedicated service to the children in our Gatewat Church preschool "MOMS" childcare gatherings. She was always bringing in toys she had collected from garage sales, thrift stores or things she had bought with her own money.
The children loved her.
With deepes sympathy to you, the family.
