CHRISTINE ANNETTE WIERSEMA

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christine Wiersema (Longe) on May 26, 2026 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 70.

Christine leaves to mourn her husband of 38 years Dean; son Kevin (Angela); granddaughter Hunter; siblings Harvey (Kathy), Howard, Celia, Kevin; and extended family and friends.

Christine was predeceased by her parents Douglas Longe & Kathleen Redwood, and by her mother-in-law Janice Wiersema.

Christine attended high school in Kenora, ON and made many life long friends. She met her husband Dean and they lived in Kenora, Rainy River and Winnipeg. 

Being at the cabin was always her happy place and she would escape to the quiet regularly. Christine travelled to many places on girl’s trips and had a wonderful circle of friends. She was a Kocum to Hunter, who brought her so much joy. Christine had many special pets and would regularly adopt new ones unbeknownst to her Husband. 

As per with her wishes cremation has taken place, and no formal service has been planned at this time.
