SHARON ANN WILKIE

With heavy hearts, we announce that Sharon Wilkie passed away on March 18, 2019 at the age of 68 at her home in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

She is survived by her daughter Faye (Brian); her mother Mary (Ron); her sisters Barbara, Amber and Corrine (Kelly); her nieces Courtney (Chris), Kalie, Kristin and Samantha; her nephews Reece and Nicholas; her great niece Arielle; her great nephews Logan and Clark as well as extended family and many close friends.

Sharon was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to John and Mary Nicolson.  She moved to Winnipeg as a young girl and grew up in the Elmwood area with her 3 younger sisters and attended Elmwood High School.

​

Sharon started working as a Travel Agent in the late 1970’s and worked in the industry for close to 40 years until retiring in 2016.

​

Sharon had a passion for cooking and loved to throw dinner parties for her family and friends.  She also enjoyed golfing, curling and bowling.  She loved spending time at the lake and was never happier than when she was living in her house out in Matlock, Manitoba.

​

Sharon was a member at John Black United Church and in addition to attending Sunday service regularly she also enjoyed volunteering at many church events.  In recent years she had joined some of the ladies in a pie making group and had such a wonderful time doing that.

​

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 2, 2019 at John Black United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy with reception to follow.

​

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Movement Centre of Manitoba in Sharon’s name.
