SCOTT WILLEMS

November 6, 1962 - January 12, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, father, and friend, Scott Ryan Willems at the age of 59.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents Lorna and Garry; brother Paul (Stephanie); daughters Jillian (David) and Lauren (Darrell); grandson Dallas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Scott grew up in Windsor Park where he attended school.  Like his grandfather George, he had a knack for music and excelled in many instruments including tuba, percussion, and guitar. He loved to spend time outdoors, especially at the family cottage on Lee River water skiing, and driving the boat so his daughters could go tubing non-stop.

Scott was a big fan of science fiction, history, rock music, and airplanes. A walking encyclopedia, if you had an obscure question, he knew the answer.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, caregivers, and staff at Saint Boniface hospital for your tireless efforts and support through this.

Scott was a person who persevered. He was a fighter. Beam me up, Scottie. We love you and we’ll miss you.

I was shocked to read of Scotts passing. Though I hadn't seen him nor the family since he was a young adult, I have many fond memories of him growing up next door. I shared the sad news with my son, Kevin, who he babysat, and with his first piano teacher, Dawna. They also send their condolences. Roberta Beach

He was my uncle and a very kind man no matter what he was going through he was always trying to reach a hand out to you. I’m eternally grateful I got to know him in any capacity let alone him being my uncle he will be missed every day and will always be in my heart.
