GEORGE ALFRED WILWAND

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Wilwand at the age of 71 years old. With family by his side George passed peacefully on October 14,2023, after a short battle with cancer.

George is survived by his wife Patsy; daughter Christina (Rob); step sons, TJ and Joey; grandchildren, Lilly, Rayne, and Riley; as well as sisters, Penny and Sandra. Also survived by niece Patty and family and Kathy and family. George is predeceased by his mom (Margret); dad (Harold); brothers, Dyck and Wayne; and sister Donna.

George had an adventurous life, always being with friends and family. George spent most of his years working at Cansell Insulation before moving to Superstore on Portage and school road as a receiver. He enjoyed this for many years and this is where he met Patsy. Together they have had a wonderful last 12 years together. Dad enjoyed spending time on his computer, watching movies and cooking. Dad was an avid Winnipeg Blue Bomber Fan and his love for his team was like no other. Win or lose you would always see or hear him cheering. He always had jokes and his sense of humor will forever be cherished.

You are now at peace and watching over us! Forever in our hearts.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Palliative care team and all the doctors that made it possible to have him at home for his last few months with us.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lung Association of Manitoba in his name.

As per his request cremation will take place and no service is planned. A celebration of life will happen at a date to be determined.
