With heavy hearts, we announce that Connie passed away on May 12, 2026 at The Grace General Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 79.

Most of her life she spent in management – restaurants in Thompson, MB and gift stores in Portage Place and Polo Park.

Later, she switched professions to the financial field, as an Area Rep for a Montreal firm. Her area was Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. She loved the travel and freedom it allowed and as she use to say, “all expenses paid is a bonus”.

Connie loved her motorcycles of which she owned many, sometimes even 3 at a time. Connie Rode for 54 years and quit at 73 when she sold her last bike and moved.

She was an animal lover, and many cats owned her over the years. Their poodle “Smokey” and “Boobie” the cat car travelled and camped all over Canada and the USA with her mother Mary.

Winnipeg was her home base, and she lived there most of her life. She enjoyed Florida a few winter months for years with her sister Shirley and husband Arvin and later with a friend and family.

Connie was predeceased by her mother Mary (née Shumilak) Winzinowich on Dec. 21, 1993; and sister Shirley (née Winzinowich) Reder on Dec. 23, 2000.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
