RICHARD (RICK) WOODS

February 27, 1953 - January 5, 2024

Suddenly, on Friday January 5, 2024, at his residence in Fort Garry, Rick Woods, aged 70 years, passed away.

Rick was pre-deceased by his wife Janice Marie Woods (nee Murray) and parents Patrick and Anita Woods. He is survived by his son Sean (Jill) and two grandchildren (Taylor and Aidan) and his sister Dianna (Brian) and niece Aileen (George) and their family.

Rick attended school and lived in Fort Garry all his life. He followed in his dad’s footsteps and became an electrician, owning and operating Fort Garry Electric until his retirement.

Rick enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing and spending time with his friends. The “Pembie” was his neighbourhood place to socialize with his friends.

The family would like to thank all of Rick’s friends for their thoughts and condolences. We hope his friends think of Rick when out golfing on his favourite golf course or fishing in his favourite lake and raise a glass in his memory.

There will be no formal funeral at this time.

Rick was the first friend I met when we moved from Victoria BC.  We were 8.  We went to school together.  Did a lot of fishing together , in later years  fishing at the Gammon.  We shared a few laughs and a few beers at the Pemby with the gang many of whom have also left us.  Ricky was always there to lend a hand and he was always the one to call for anything electrical..  To Sean, Diane & Family we are so sorry for your loss.  He will be missed.

I forgot to mention Rick had a good sense of humor and was always willing to help out a friend. I'm going to miss his presence.
