MARGARET (PEGGY) LOUISE WRIGHT

The family of Margaret (“Peggy”) Louise WRIGHT of Winnipeg is saddened to announce her passing on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the age of 86 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son Edward (Catherine); stepchildren: Trudi (Tommy) Bruce and David (Tara) Tyndale; grandchildren: Christine, Janet; step-grandchildren: Kayla, Isabella, Megan, Ethan; brother, Norman Bunn; ex husband Dwayne (Anne) Wright; as well as five great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

She was predeceased by her adoring partner of 37 years, Peter Tyndale; and her parents Margaret and Edward Bunn.

Peggy was born in Flin Flon MB, in 1939. She married Dwayne in 1956 and had Edward in 1957. In her early career she was the regional secretary for Investors Syndicate in Brandon. Later she decided to become a teacher and completed a B.Sc. at BU in 1976 and a B.Ed. at the UofM in 1979. She then taught language arts and typing at the Seven Oaks SD for 15 years. She changed careers again by completing her CFP designation and working in sales for Investors Group until finally retiring in about 1999.

Although she was keenly interested in professional development, Peggy also had a rich personal life. She was loving, kind, fun, and cared greatly for her family and friends. She was a role model for Edward, Trudi, and David and gave them many opportunities in life that they might not have otherwise had. She also had many passions such as creative writing, painting, community service, and animals. She enjoyed her friends, spending much of her summers with Peter at Miami Beach, MB. In recent years, she secured GoM funding for building the raised gardens in Eastern Star Chalet and organized events with her Red Hats friends.

Peggy was proud of her family history in the early days of what would eventually become Manitoba, including her great-great-grandfather, Dr. John Bunn, the first native-born doctor to practice medicine in the Red River Settlement, and her great-grandfather, Thomas William Bunn, who was secretary of state of the Assembly of Assiniboia.

A Celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Varsity View Community Centre, 315 Laxdal Road, Winnipeg. Interment will follow on a later date at St. Clements Anglican Church in Saint Andrews, MB.

Memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association or to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (CPFF).
