DANIEL RONALD YOUNG

July 17, 1979 – August 24, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Daniel Young on the evening of Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the age of 45 years.

Daniel is survived by his daughter Nikole Lenio-Slack; his father, Ron Young (Joan); his mother, Gail Young, and her partner, Jack Cyr; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his younger brother, Kevin.

Daniel was normally a very soft-spoken person, many times it was hard to hear what he was saying to you. As a youth Daniel was involved in Air Cadets and Sea Cadets, and he played the drums in the band. He was also in beavers, cubs, and boy scouts. He also enjoyed sports and was on the football team.

Daniel always enjoyed working with tools and fixing things, even as a child he enjoyed building things and taking things apart. He was very mechanically inclined and very technically knowledgeable. He spent many hours building and working on computers.

Daniel loved animals and had numerous pets such as a snake, iguana, and dogs. He loved being out in nature, camping, fishing, and taking photographs of nature. He was happiest at the lake in the boat or watching the animals and looking at the stars.

Daniel loved his daughter Nikole very much and was very proud of her accomplishments.

Daniel is at peace now and no longer has to fight his demons. Go now and reunite with your brother Kevin.

Rest In Peace, Daniel

Daniel’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

My sincere condolences to Dan's parents. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I met Dan about 7 years ago. And one thing is for sure he was a very soft spoken individual I would always have to get him to talk louder which I'm sure annoyed him. Lol!

Dan and I would go "binning" often looking for valuable treasures. Dan had a excellent eye for that. I also know he was very talented in putting things together or fixing whatever needed to be fixed.

I know Dan suffered many life challenges and hardships some by choice other not in his control but I saw the good in Dan.

Dan may you rest in peace. Until we meet again.

I knew Daniel before phones so no photos. We did grow apart but we never had bad blood. Daniel was a solid guy. He was my first friend at Beavers. We were reunited in junior high and he sat down beside me on the first day in home room in grade 7. We became friends again. We fought our enemies together haha Daniel had amazing 1 punch knock out power. We fought on the football field together. We spent time at each others houses. We spent time with each others family. I hope you are all doing ok. I wish you all the best, I wish Daniel a peaceful rest.
