FLORENCE ZADKO

(née WOLCHUK)

July 10, 1937 - January 1, 2021

It is with heavy hearts, we announce that our beloved Mom was taken to heaven to be with our Dear Lord, Jesus Christ, in the afternoon of January 1, 2021.  Her peaceful passing occurred at The St. Boniface Hospital after a short illness.

 

Florence Wolchuk was born at home in Aaron, Saskatchewan on July 10, 1937.  She married Donald Zadko, September 22, 1956.  They raised three sons, Ken, Rick and Michael.  The lived most of their lives in St. Catharines, ON, but moved to Manitoba to be with their boys a few years ago. Florence was a woman of joy, shared with all that knew her.

 

She is predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Lucy Wolchuk, Son Rick Zadko, brother Peter Walchuk, sister-in-laws Valeida Walchuk and  Lorraine Penak.

 

Lovingly Survived by her husband Don, sons Ken (Thida) and Mike (Elayna) granddaughter Jennifer Hruska (Matt) and great-granddaughters, Nathalie and Keena, grandson Michael Zadko, granddaughter Tiffany Roberts, great-Grandchildren, Caydence, Cole and Shane, brother Bill (Jill )Wolchuk, & brother-in-law Alec Penak, Thida’s children, Kate, Vor and Jimmy and their families and her best- friend of 75 years Phyllis Keenan.  Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She loved us all dearly!

 

Florence will be cremated and her immediate family will have a memorial service at home.

Florence’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. They also encourage the sharing of photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page

 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in her memory.
