ADELINE ZARETSKI

(née Nowalsky)

March 23, 1930 – February 6, 2025

Surrounded by her family, Adeline Zaretski (née Nowalsky) passed away peacefully on February 6th, 2025, just shy of her 95th birthday.

Born on March 23rd, 1930, Adeline was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, and friend. She is mourned by her children, Dan (Mariana) Zaretski, Bill Zaretski, and Yvonne (William) Pelletier; her granddaughters, Andrea (Jay) Myers and Jenny (Steve Paulus) Zaretski; and her great-grandchildren, Leyna, Tucker, Vada, and Townes. She is also survived by her sister, Rose (Tom) Rupp; her brother, Eugene (Heather) Nawolsky; her lifelong family friend, Michael Hawryliw; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Adeline was predeceased by her parents, Lena and Charles Nowalsky; her daughter-in-law, Dianne Zaretski; and her great-nephew, Jim-Joe Wilson.

Adeline cherished the moments spent with her family, including the special visits from her great-grandchildren. She loved spoiling them with treats and her special "Baba envelopes" on their birthdays and at Christmas. She enjoyed a long and rewarding career working at Ricki’s for over 20 years until her retirement. Throughout her life, she formed many wonderful friendships that she held dear. We will miss her greatly.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for the exceptional care and kindness they showed our mom and grandma.

A private family service and interment has been held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice.

Adeline’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Mountains and many miles did not seperate my sisyer and us. There were phone calls with a jokeingly (Winnipeg Calling)) and many stuffed evevlopes arriving. There were weddings to attend, babies arriving, anniveries to celabrate. Adeline was always there for us. A Favorite aunt to all. With tears on my face and sorrow in my heart I will miss her forever dear sister.
