I have just learned of Ivan's death, and I am truly saddened. We spoke very often on the internet and I really appreciated him. I will really miss a very kind friend who I will miss, Stéphane.

Ivan was such a warm person with this beautiful positive energy towards others no matter what was going on. I feel very lucky to have known him, and will miss his hugs, smiles, conversation, and kindness.

Ivan's life was a gift to me and to many others. He made the world a brighter place with his love. Moving forward, I will try to keep his spirit with us by doing the same.

What a great loss. Everything Ivan touched thrived, including friendships and gardens of which he had many. An awesome couple now one gone to be with friends and family waiting for him.

my sincere condolences to the family and Brian, you will never be alone. ❤️

Ivan was Rainbow Harmony Project's unofficial superhugger. A sweet, gentle giant. He and Brian were a great duo. We will miss him terribly.

You dear dear man! It's unspeakable that you be taken from your partner, family and friends so soon.

you were a living caring man Ivan. I loved getting a warm hug from you when we met at choir. May you rest in peace now and know that we all miss you. Love Sandra.

Words are so inadequate to express the feeling of loss I have over Ivan's death. He was so special and I have so many lovely memories of hugs and singing and organizing refreshment time at Rainbow Harmony rehearsals. Ivan and Brian were always there to help and I so appreciated them. Brian I am holding you up in my prayers and sending virtual hugs to comfort you. Ivan will be missed.

I worked with Ivan some 20+ years ago at St. Charles CC, before he went on to pursue his passion in floral arranging. I had the good fortune of reconnecting with him via Facebook, and then through the choral community, in recent years. I was fortunate to receive some lily bulbs from him before we both left St. Charles, which I planted in my parents' garden. Ivan’s lilies bloom without fail every year. He lives on in the colours of my mom's garden. 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️

I met Ivan singing in Rainbow Harmony Project. Each time I saw him, his face would light up with delight and he would hug me as though I was the most special person in the world to him. It was only recently that I discovered MANY others had exactly the same experience. He had a true gift for making you feel loved and appreciated. Every time I spoke to someone about Ivan, the universal comment was, "He was such a kind, gentle person." If you look up the definition of 'gentleman', there would be Ivan's name.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you Brian and Ivan's family. Ivan was taken to heaven far too soon, may he rest in peace in the arms of angels.
