RONALD (RON) BLAIR ZIMMERMAN

July 8, 1962 - April 3, 2026

It is with great sadness, that the family announces the passing of Ron Zimmerman, at the Riverview Health Centre, on the evening of Friday, April 3 2026, at the age of 63 years.

The loss of Ron has shocked and impacted the numerous communities he was involved in and is being felt by many. Ron is survived by his loving family; his wife Cindy; his children and their spouses, Danny (Rachel) and Jamie (Cody); and their 1st grandchild Nora Ann, with one grandson on his way. Also missed by his parents, Guff and Eleanor; his sisters, Heather and Cathy; his sister-in-law Sharon (Phil); brothers-in-law, Bill (Maria) and Todd (Debbie); and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Ron may not have lived as long as we all expected, but he truly lived his life to the fullest. Enjoying every moment! He was the most incredible husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was blessed with many wonderful friends and he enjoyed being around every single one of them!

Ron and Cindy met at the age of 18 and 16 years old. Soul mates! This year they would have had 46 years together and married for 42. Both of them, could always make each other laugh. There was not a day go by, that they didn’t tell each other, ‘I love you’, either verbally or by a thoughtful action. Ron’s love for his family was endless. He was completely devoted to his wife and children. He felt very blessed, that Cody and Rachel, became a part of the family. He was so excited to be a grandfather. He got to meet and hold his granddaughter, Nora Ann. Now he is holding his grandson on the other side, till he is ready to make his debut here!!

A celebration of Ron’s life, will be held from 2-4pm, on Sunday April 26th at the Winnipeg Winter Club. 200 River Ave, Winnipeg, MB. There will be an opportunity for anyone wishing to share stories and memories in the last portion of the event. If you have photos of Ron you'd like to share to be included in a photo tribute, please send them to :

I first met Ron at Faith Lutheran Church on Berrydale when we were little kids. Our families have been friends forever. My brother and I spent lots of time at the Zimmerman house where we had so much fun with Ron who always had great ideas of what to do with our spare time. Shooting at model cars with a pellet gun in his garage was a really good/bad one. Ron and I would sometimes play board games with my older brother and his friends. If we were about to win a game of Monopoly, somehow the game was extended by a made up rule and arguments ensued. Growing up with Ron was a special time in my life that I will never forget. You will have a place in my heart forever, old friend. I will be looking for you when my time on earth is done.

Ron was a great neighbou and a wonderful individual. We missed him and Cindy when they left the community but loved that they came back every year to our annual BBQ. Our deepest condolences to Cindy and the Family.

Very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. We grew up together in the same neighborhood but life took us on different paths. I had recently reconnected with him and he shared memories and how our families were doing. He was very proud of everyone in his family, as he shared current details with a proud smile on his face. We parted hoping to get together soon. Ron will be missed.

Cindy and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Ron left us to soon. I was blessed to have met Ron on our respective first day at U of M Commerce in September, 1980. He became a great friend, counsellor and mentor. Would not have graduated without him. After losing track of each other over the years, it was such a pleasure for us to reconnect again over the last couple of years. A true gentleman. God bless.

Ron was a good friend. Once you were a friend of Ron's you felt like you were part of his family. He was always there with a smile and an offer to help without judgement. A true gentleman has left us and will be missed.
