KATHLEEN ZIRK

September 16, 1958 - July 12, 2022

Kathy...How to begin. I guess that trying to describe her with one word would be near impossible because she was; Loving, Kind, beautiful, generous, honourable, thoughtful, fiercely loyal, driven, curious and wonderful just to start.

Kathleen grew up with a large family by today's standards and I’m sure was the great environment that formed the wonderful person we had the honour of having in our lives. She had 3 brothers and 2 sisters and a devoted mother and father to help her learn how to treat people the way she would like to be treated so I thank them for that because we all reaped that benefit.

She was always proud to say that she had a lot of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and great great.... okay I’ll stop now. But I know she loved them all.

Kathy had a good working life too that started at Marshall Wells and resulted in good friends that she still has today. After that she worked for 36 years at Western Supplies that is now a part of Emco. I can attest to the fact that she always strove to get things done the right way and gave and got the respect and friendship that everyone wants in a workplace.

Kathy was not always patient, however. If things would take a bit longer than she expected them to, you could almost time it and expect to hear "READY" ! And you would know that you had to get your A- - in gear or else.

Kathy was always generous and ready to give people what they needed if she was able. If it was moral support or a kind word or money, she was ready to help.

Kathleen had a lot of interests and over the last Several summers it has been spending time in the garden. We spent a lot of time maintaining our 5 small gardens around the house being sure to take water - or other beverages - in the TIKI hut. We spent a lot of time together enjoying that and each other.

I am going to miss her friendship, sense of humour and all her other wonderful qualities.

Kathy and I quickly became friends after starting at Western Supplies many years ago! She was a very kind and fun person. She would often pick me up in her Camaro on our way to work!! Loved working with Kathy. We were known as Burke and Zirk! Just wished we had reconnected! ❤️

My heartfelt condolences to you Greg, Family, and Emco Family.   I have had the privilege of working with Kathy since 2013. We had so many great times together even after I moved to AB.  Preparing for annual Golf Tournament, going to Elsie’s on Fridays (LC) BBQ in the Tiki, Girls weekend at the ‘Lines’ cabin. The sheer laughter we would have or the saying she would say ‘We’re hooped’.  We were always hooped! I am so glad for the time we had together and the opportunity to see her, laugh with her and hug her one last time at the end of June.  Gonna miss you Girl !!! ❤

I did not know Kathy all that well.  What I can say is that she was always welcoming and accommodating for a very new sales rep entering into the business.  I reconnected with Kathy at Emco Waterworks approximately 5 years ago. NOTHING had changed.  Welcoming and accommodating.  She will be missed.  My heartfelt condolences to Greg Salo and all of the Emco family.  We lost a kind heart.  Peace

Kathy and I connected through the phone lines and email over the years working together in two different provinces. She always put a smile on my face. No amount of chocolate is going to fix this hurt. She is greatly missed. Kathleen in London

Our sincere condolences to the family on Kathy’s passing. Our family had many fun times with Kathy when she was in her early 20’s.  Playing cards with competitive Kathy was always fun and when she put a “hex” on your money by touching your money pile - you would lose the next hand!  She was a kind person and will be missed by her many friends and family.  The Baker Family

I was saddened to receive the news of Kathy’s passing. My connection with Kathy was from elementary school in Rivers, Manitoba to high school in Winnipeg. We reconnected in recent years on FB and kept in touch at birthdays and such. Though I didn’t know her as an adult, I always remember her smile and friendship and am truly grateful to have known her. To all her family and friends I wish you many blessings….May cherished memories help to heal your heart.

My condolences to Kathy's family and friends. Kathy was an industry friend through our waterworks connection.  We had many wonderful conversations and visits over the years.  She will be greatly missed.

My condolences to Greg, all Kathy’s  family, and her Emco family. I was part of her Emco family for 7 years.  She was great to work with, but we also had lots of fun together and became friends. This is not goodbye, but see you later Kathy💕 Cheers! Michelle Walker

We extend our sincere condolences to Greg and family.    We knew Kathy best thru the EMCO golf tournaments that she helped organize. She'll really be missed.  ❤  Lorne remembers a time when he sold a large safe to EMCO and Kathy was the only one with the patience and knack to crack the combination to open it.

Condolences to all those who are feeling Kathy's loss. We were all lucky to have met her.  I had the pleasure to meet Kathy through Emco and although we never met in person, she was always someone I enjoyed talking to and working with through phone and email. She took pride in her job and always wanted to make sure every thing was done right. She had a great passion for her job that makes all those who encounter her want to be better too.  Thank you Kathy, you will be missed! Mary from London
