JUNE PILON

JUNE PILON

June 19, 1936– December 27, 2019

June Elizabeth Pilon sadly passed away at the Grace Hospital in the wee hours of the morning on Friday December 27, 2019. Cancer just wouldn’t let her be. Three times she fought that beast and she won the first two battles like a champ; the third battle however was just too much for her and unfortunately, that beast won the war.

June was born June 19, 1936 to Stanley and Grace (Palmer) Atkins in Winnipeg Manitoba. She was married to William Joseph Pilon on May 20th, 1961 also in Winnipeg. This is where they resided most of their marriage. We would feel remiss though if we did not mention the years, they lived in Rosenort, Manitoba, which is where some of her dearest friends still live today.

She came from difficult beginnings and fought hard to become the woman she was before she passed away. She was caring and kind, extremely humble (almost to a fault), and she just loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards with friends, visiting with her best friend and doing anything she could for anyone she could think of helping because she was just that way.

She was an amazing mother (mother-in-law), grandmother, great-grandma (GG), and friend when she left this world. She was survived by her three broken-hearted daughters, Michelle (Russ), Amanda (Eric), and Aurissa (Shane); seven grandchildren Misty, Tasha, Tyrone (Jess), Aurora, Brianne, Russell, Billy, and William, all of whom will miss her dearly. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Madyson, Alexis, Shiloh, and Lucas, who will barely get the chance to know her except through us. Also her absence will surely be felt by her long-time companion, her cat (her baby), Bootsie. Although sometimes the void is felt even more by people in one's everyday life like her long-time neighbour and very best friend in the whole world Ophelia (Joe) Caleiras.

She was predeceased by her husband Bill; three of her children Jeffrey, Marie, and Joseph, and one grandchild Barry. She also outlived her parents, four sisters, and one brother.

We would like to send a special thanks to those that took care of our Momma at the Grace General Hospital and those who were so kind and gentle with her at the St Boniface Hospital Cancer Care. We would especially like to thank Dr. McCaulay from Mount Carmel Clinic for being such a kind and compassionate man in her life; she felt truly listened to and cared for by you. Also the nurse that spent what Mom said was “genuine quality” time with her (we believe her name is Maggie) She spoke of you both often … with love

We will be having a Celebration of Life Ceremony for June, at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 11 at the New Life Sanctuary Church, 618 Muriel Street Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Fare thee well Beautiful Lady … Now go Dance with the Angels … and Make them Laugh!
