Josephine "Josie" Sharrow Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Josie Sharrow announce her passing on Wednesday May 20, 2020 in Winnipeg Manitoba, while holding her daughter Margaret’s hand and with her granddaughter Ashely by her side.

Josie was born in Savant Lake, October 23, 1929 where she grew up and later worked in many of the tourist camps as a cook and baker. In 1957 she married Joe Sharrow. Together, they had three children and moved to Thunder Bay in 1963, where she pursued a career in nursing, until her retirement in 1995. She was also known as the Pie Lady, selling her famous butter tarts and pies, after her retirement. Josie was a spitfire and was never one to sit still. She had a big heart and it was not unusual for her to bring strangers home for dinner.
