XAVIER RADDYSH

June 30, 1955 - May 21, 2019

Unexpectedly, on May 21, 2019, our sweet angel Xavier passed away at the age of 23 years.

Left to cherish Xavier’s memory are mom and dad, Karla and Kevin; brother Julian; grandparents Don and Gale; aunts and uncles Randy and Angie, Kee and Kathy, Sandy and Sheik, Todd and Darla, and Jennifer (Autie J); as well as many beloved cousins.  Xavier had a special relationship with his cousin Taylor and her daughter Aubree (he was affectionately known to Aubree as “Someone Else”).  Xavier is also survived by his partner Amery and extended family Candice, Sean, Sadie, and Billie and a myriad of close and loving friends. Xavier’s loves also included his fur babies Scout, Gimli, and Lil (no fur).  Waiting to welcome Xavier on the other side are Grandma Nadia, Auntie Liz, and other loved ones who have gone before.

From the time Xavier was little, he embraced life with joy.  His appreciation of the simpler things continued into his adulthood.  One might find Xavier tracking Pokémon at The Forks, “noot nooting” with Pingu the Penguin on Facebook, or shopping for colourful, fancy dessert plates at Walmart.  He loved Hello Kitty and the Dollar Store.  Xavier and his “sweet bean” Scout spent many fun-filled hours at Maple Grove dog park.  Listening to music, dancing, and gaming were part of Xavier’s daily life.  He was also a master of the selfie.  His exuberance and sense of humour spilled into the lives of everyone who knew him.

Xavier was a most genuine, kind, and empathetic person.  He truly touched our hearts and because of that his spirit will live on in us forever.  He was a strong and outspoken advocate for the rights of those who have to fight for their voices to be heard.  He was passionate about supporting social services for marginalized folks and for those struggling with addiction and mental health challenges.  Xavier has made the world a better place.

Friends and relatives are encouraged to share in photos, stories, and condolences for his family by making use of the comment section on this page.

A celebration of Xavier’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (Unitarian Church)

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Xavier to Main Street Project or to the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre.
