KEVIN MICHAEL SIGURDSON

October 27, 1994 – February 26, 2021

It is with very heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Kevin at the age of 26.

Kevin is survived by his parents, mother Susan Sigurdson (nee Tomiuk), and father Kardi Sigurdson (friend Michelle). He also leaves behind his brother Geordie (Melissa), niece Sunny, grandmother Marvis, and his girlfriend Jasmin. Kevin was predeceased by his grandparents Danny and Helen Tomiuk, and Thor Sigurdson.

Kevin also leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers .Kevin was extremely proud and happy to become an Uncle for the first time on July 13, 2021 to his niece Sunny. In fact, he recently said he could see a strong resemblance of himself of in Sunny, which was so cute!

Kevin was the younger of two sons born in Winnipeg. He attended Wayoata Elementary School until the family moved to Brandon from December, 2001, to July, 2005. Upon arrival in Brandon, Kevin and his brother Geordie found their love of playing hockey. Kevin was a talented player, playing goalie and centre  . Kevin also played soccer from a young age.

In 2005, the family moved back to Winnipeg. Kevin attended Arthur Day Junior High School and Murdoch MacKay Collegiate. Kevin was very strong in math and won an award for top math student in high school. He graduated high school in 2011.

Kevin worked in many capacities, usually involving operating/driving big equipment, which he loved. He was a very hard worker.

One of Kevin's highlights of his life was moving to Saskatoon with his brother Geordie in 2014. They bought a condominium together and both worked for the company called Tervita. After working for Tervita, Kevin moved to work at other companies in Winnipeg, British Columbia, and Saskatoon.

To describe Kevin, he was sweet, kind-hearted, laid back, easy going, gentle, private, and quiet. He was also very witty, playful, and affectionate. Kevin was endearingly funny, and loved to "play on words", often causing great belly laughs! He was very knowledgeble, informative, wise, intuitive, and a gentleman. He was very tech savvy when it came to computers and electronics, and was a wizard at making complicated financial investments online. Kevin was extremely environmentally conscientious. He was very concerned about the state of Mother Earth. Kevin was passionate about music; especially rap and classic heavy rock. He gave the biggest bear hugs, which will be sorely missed.

Kevin adored his lovable dog Sarah. When he picked her from the litter 10 years ago, it was love at first sight for both of them. They thoroughly enjoyed exploring Mother Nature together, and one of their favourite spots was the park by the Canadian Mint, surrounded by Canada Geese by the lake.

Kevin was an avid sports fan and sports trivia expert. He loved to closely follow the Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and also professional soccer and basketball. He was very proud of the Ukrainian and Icelandic teams, that being part of his ethnic background.

Kevin would do almost anything for ice cream. He especially loved his birthday because he knew he was getting a fancy Dairy Queen ice cream cake.

Kevin was very conscientious about eating healthy. He loved to be creative in the kitchen, using nutritious ingredients to make tasty meals, as well as "signature" teas, beverages, and smoothies.

Kevin touched many of the lives of people he came into contact with, and often left a permanent impact on them. Kevin's mother was very fortunate to have Kevin live with her at various times in the recent years, deepening their precious bond with one another. Words cannot describe how much Kevin was loved, and he will be very deeply missed.

We are grateful to have been blessed with having him light up our lives, with those twinkling eyes, for 26 years. We wish Kevin a peaceful and serene journey. Kevin will live on in our hearts and thoughts forever.
