MARK RICHARD SINGLETON
October 29, 1948 – August 8, 2020
It is with tremendous sadness but a sense of profound relief that we announce Mark’s battle with Lewy Body Dementia has ended.
Mark leaves his wife Nancy, his first wife and mother of his children Dianne, his eldest son Kirk (Karen), grandchildren Kayla, Kylie and Matthew and youngest son Christopher (Jessica) and his stepchildren Kevin Perris, Meaghan Sharma (Raj) and grandchildren Kainoa and Callie.
He will also be sorely missed by Kai and Callie’s rescue dogs, Griff and Sully, who have brought grampa enormous pleasure over the past two years. They were unfailing in their ability to bring a smile to his face or give him a chuckle with their antics.
Mark and Nancy were blessed to have had many dear friends who supported them unconditionally throughout this heartbreaking journey.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lance Crook and Dr. Wolfgang Heidenrich for their exemplary care of Mark over the years.
Everlasting gratitude goes out to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Emergency Department, the Concordia Hospital and the Victoria Hospital. Mark was a challenging patient, yet was always treated with kindness, respect and professionalism.
I could not have managed without our three amazing WRHA home care workers who brightened Mark’s days and provided him a much needed break.
At Mark’s request, there will be no formal service to observe his passing. Mark was a gentle, loving and caring man who left this world far too soon. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Mark's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos and/or sharing your own memories and stories using the comment section on this page.
The next time you raise a glass (Singleton Scotch in particular) please think of Mark and his life well lived.
