MAVIS "TANNY" SKIDMORE
(née Green)
April 3, 1945 - December 3, 2020
Mavis “Tanny” Skidmore of Winnipeg, passed away with family by her side at the age of 75, in the Concordia Hospital, after a brief illness.
Mavis was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Lloyd Green. She is survived by her children Ken Little, Eileen Skidmore, and Justine Skidmore; grandchildren Shannon Skidmore and Shawn Skidmore (Ashley); and great-granddaughter Harper and grand-puppy Prince.
Mavis was born in Winnipeg and moved to Brampton, ON to pursue a modelling career. It was there she started her family andmoved on to spend many years in Thompson before returning to Winnipeg.
Mavis spent her life working in management in the hotel industry. She spent many years working at Hotel Fort Garry, which she loved. She enjoyed sharing stories of extraordinary events she was a part of over the years. Mavis was an avid mystery reader and an old movie buff. Mavis had great pride and love for her family.
In keeping with Mavis' wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of her life will be held when it is possible to gather. In the meantime, Mavis’ family kindly requests that her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above.
