SEAN DAVID SMITH

April 8, 1974 - March 5, 2022

It is with deep regret and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, father, brother, and friend.

Sean leaves to mourn his parents, Wayne (stepmother Edith) and Angel Wicharenko; sons, Connor (mother Cynthia) and Sawyer (mother Janine); siblings, Tim, Neil, Graham, and Rachel; grandmother Denise Mestdagh; nephews Ryan and Aidan, sister-in-law Annie; and a plethora of close friends. He was predeceased by his brother Scott in 2016.

Sean was an avid camper with friends and family. He loved fishing and travelling with his boys, and he had numerous trips and escapades with his close friends to events and for vacations. Saturday nights were reserved for the poker gang and Sundays for watching football. Sean enjoyed playing sponge hockey and slow pitch and simply socializing with his friends. He was a devoted father, kind, fun-loving, helpful and generous. Sean worked for Hydro as a gas serviceman and at Palliser shipping for many years prior and his co-workers were great friends. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives. Sean and his family were very grateful to have had such good friends and support in these last difficult weeks as well.

A celebration of life with be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday March 11, 2022 at Oxford Heights Community Club, 359 Dowling Ave East, Winnipeg, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice or to a trust fund which has been set up for Sean’s sons (Connor and Sawyer). You may drop into any Access Credit Union to contribute by cash or cheque to the Connor & Sawyer Smith account (based in the Carman branch) or email Wayne and Edith Smith at wepafarm@gmail.com to arrange your donations.

Sean's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.
