At the age of 92, Elizabeth passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2019 at The Simkin Centre from the after effects of a heart attack.

 

Elizabeth was predeceased by husband Howard Traverse as well as her daughters Bertha and Violet. She is survived by her daughter Mabel; son Kenneth (Sandra); six grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

 

Elizabeth was born in Baie Nord, Newfoundland on March 21, 1926. Later she moved to Corner Brook, Newfoundland where she married Howard Traverse. They raised a family of four children.

 

After Howard died, Elizabeth moved to Winnipeg where she planted roots. She worked at Boeing and retired at the age of 67. Elizabeth was a hard worker and provider. She was a handy-woman and a do-it-yourself kind of person. She loved to crochet, knit and garden, where she coveted her beautiful roses. Elizabeth loved and cherished all the time spent with family, which always put a smile on her face. 

 

Her smile and laughter will be deeply missed.
